Theaterdelta Zuid Holland
.avif)
Theaterdelta Zuid Holland is a network of three major theatres: Leidse Schouwburg in Leiden, Kunstmin in Dordrecht, and de Goudse Schouwburg in Gouda. Individually, they are strong cultural institutions. Together, they form a regional powerhouse for performing arts. But there was a problem. Their stakeholders did not experience them as one network. Each theatre had its own identity, its own tone, its own way of communicating. Internally, that made collaboration harder. Externally, it made the brand invisible. The question was simple but loaded: How do you build one shared identity without erasing three distinct theatres?

The insight
Theatres do not compete on buildings.
They compete on energy.
People do not go to “a venue.”
They go for a feeling. Anticipation. Intensity. Connection.
We realised Theaterdelta did not need to become one uniform brand.
It needed a shared rhythm.
A way to express that all three stages are part of the same cultural movement, even when
they tell different stories.
Not one voice.
But one pulse.
The concept
We built the identity around two forces that define live performance:
The Pulse
The electric moment when the curtain goes up.
Energy, anticipation, attention.
The Ripple
What a performance leaves behind.
Emotion, conversation, memory. These two ideas became the backbone of the entire visual and verbal system.
The Pulse drives the bold, immediate side of the brand: strong typography, striking
contrasts, and dynamic layouts.
The Ripple shapes the softer layers: photography, storytelling, and the way content flows
across platforms.
Together, they create a system that can stretch from raw promotion to deep cultural
reflection, without losing coherence.
Each theatre keeps its own character, but all three now move within the same visual and
conceptual world.
The result
Theaterdelta Zuid Holland now has a shared identity that feels alive instead of imposed.
A flexible brand system that:
• connects three theatres without flattening them
• supports everything from performance posters to long form storytelling
• gives the network a recognisable presence across the region
Instead of three separate voices shouting in different directions, Theaterdelta now speaks
as one cultural force with many stories.
Not a merger of logos.
A shared stage.
